Rene Larrave maintains and updates this site with interesting information about his travels, philosophy, and musings. He is an entrepreneur, a businessman, a teacher, a traveller, a motorcyclist, a wanderer, an engineer, and, most importantly, somebody that loves his family.
Rene Larrave has over 30 years of entrepreneurial and management consulting experience in areas that include business strategy, operations, and technology in a variety of industries including financial services, retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, utilities, energy, hospitality, high tech, and entertainment.
As an entrepreneur, he has launched a number of businesses in a variety of fields such as renewable energy, business services, and hospitality.
Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, he was a management consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton and Deloitte Consulting in both the UK and the US. He has held Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Business teaching positions at the University of Texas (UT) at Austin, Monterrey Institute of Technology, and, currently, at Southern Methodist University (SMU). He has been involved with the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and the Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization (YEO) and is a member of the board of directors for a number of for-profit and non-profit organizations.
He has an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a BS in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Monterrey Tech and Ohio State University. He is also a Certified Management Consultant.
